Spiced Apple Pie with Fluted Round Cutouts

Overlapping disks of pate brisee top a highly spiced apple pie. You will need a 1 3/4-inch fluted round cutter to create the layered effect on the top crust.

Chicken Noodle Soup

In addition to broad egg noodles, you can make this heavenly soup with angel-hair pasta broken into short lengths or other shapes, such as alphabet pasta or pastina, or add cooked grains like rice.

Chicken and Rice Soup

Note: To freeze, cool soup to room temperature; transfer to airtight plastic containers, leaving 1 inch of space. Freeze up to 3 months. When ready to use, place plastic containers upside down under hot tap water to help release frozen blocks of soup. Place blocks in a large saucepan; cover and reheat over medium-low, adding water to thin if necessary. Serve.

Better than Takeout Chicken Fried Rice

I mean really.  Who doesn’t like fried rice?  Ok maybe my six year old doesn’t because of the veggies inside, but I am pretty sure he is the only one out there.  :) For my birthday dinner with my family I chose to go to our favorite little chinese restaurant.  And it was the bomb.  But their fried rice was excellent.   But I kept thinking, I can make this just as good at home and I have been craving it ever since!
Since I learned a few awesome tricks on how to get the perfect fried rice in my recipe here, I wanted to make a big old batch for myself for lunch.  The baby was craving it that day.  But I thought, why don’t I add in some protein and make a meal out of it.  You guys.   The chicken gave it such amazing flavor!  I really couldn’t believe how good it turned out.  I promise that you can stay at home and have this better than take out chicken fried rice.  You will really be impressed with yourself. :)

WIAW and Sesame Chicken Recipe

I thought summer would open up my schedule and give me time to run whenever I chose.  Wrong.  Only a few days in and already my running motivation has fell by the wayside.  Yesterday instead of my scheduled interval workout, I just went for a five-mile run.  Gasp.  More often than not, I wish I could just go for a long walk with my mom in the morning and be done with it.  With so many things to do and people to see, I hope I can stay motivated throughout the summer to stick with my training.

Slow Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip Recipe

The holiday parties and get-togethers are right around the corner, which means you need some quick, easy, and delicious party recipes up your sleeve!
My family LOVES dips – salsas, cheesy dips, veggie dips – anything gooey and delicious is a winner in our book! We love to use this dip on bread (I just bought a baguette from the grocery store’s bakery and sliced it to use for dipping), but it would be awesome with crackers or vegetables . . . or even eating it straight out of the crock pot with just a spoon!
When you first place your ingredients inside your crock pot, it’s going to seem a little dry, but I promise that it will cook up nice and gooey, just the way you want this dip to be!

Sesame Chicken Potstickers

Whenever I have a chance, I make huge batches of potstickers. They’re one of my most favorite things to eat, so it’s always super convenient to have a batch of homemade potsticker right in the freezer. And it’s always helpful to have a helping hand. Plus, it’s even more fun when you compare your pretty potsticker folding skills while your helping partner destructs them.
Still, pretty or not, these potstickers have quickly become a favorite of mine. I’ve tried shrimp and pork potstickers – both of which I love – but the chicken has quickly become a favorite. These chicken potstickers are also more budget friendly, which become super helpful when you double/triple the recipe for freezing.
Best of all, you can completely customize these fillings by adding or omitting your preferred veggies. Just be sure to make extra to freeze – these will come in super handy when you have those Asian potsticker cravings!
